A topping out ceremony was hosted in October with invited guests present, and Reifenhäuser Group describing the renovation as demonstrating its orientation towards the future.

Construction works are on schedule, and the building shell will be closed in November so that the interior work can be started. The administrative headquarters of the Reifenhäuser Group will be finished to schedule so that the employees can move in during next summer, with 300 new workplaces created across an area of 7,000 sq. m.

Further elements of the building work include renovating the façade according to the Energy Saving Ordinance and renewal of the complete technical equipment in the building, such as air conditioning, heating, ventilation, sanitary facilities, electrical systems and lifts.

The sixth floor is also being extended to a full storey, with a stepped seventh storey to be added that can accommodate around 100 people and be used for events.

As part of the topping out ceremony, one of the huge façade elements was lifted by a crane before it was fitted into the outer structure. A total of 200 of these elements, each weighing one tonne, will be mounted to the exterior of the high-rise office building.

As soon as the façade of the 32m-high building has been closed, the complex interior work will start with the installation of up-to-date building technology including a new combined heat and power plant.

A new design for the outside space will complete the overall picture of an attractive and modern administration building that meets all modern requirements, Reifenhäuser said.

Klaus Reifenhäuser, one of the three managing directors of Reifenhäuser Group said: ‘This phase of renovating our headquarters is especially exciting for us. Every day we can watch how everything is taking shape, growing and becoming a marvellous perspective for us and the city of Troisdorf.’
