CCL sleeves chosen for new cleaning products

Challs International, a supplier of cleaning products, is using sleeves from CCL Decorative Sleeves to create brand awareness and shelf appeal for two new products. 

Challs Bin Buddy targets the UK’s 51 million bins with a new deodorizer that kills both odors and insects. Challs Boost has been designed to work with washing detergent to enhance its cleaning power when laundry is heavily soiled or stained. 

As both products are new concepts for new categories, creating an effective brand image was a vital part of the development process in which the packaging played a key role. The Bin Buddy pack is shaped like a wheelie bin with a sprinkler applicator, while the Boost bottle features a distinctive curved design that sets it apart from other stain removers and fabric conditioners. 

The sleeves from CCL Decorative Sleeves are UV flexo printed in eight colors on 50mym PVC.  The Bin Buddy design features the brand logo and wheelie bin photograph with strong background colors to match the two different fragrances, Citrus and Berry Blast, while the Boost sleeve comprises a sky background with the Boost name created out of washing hanging on a line. 

Sleeves are able to fit exactly around the distinctly shaped containers. In addition, their all-over coverage enables the incorporation of all product information without impinging on the impact of the graphics. 

‘Both Bin Buddy and Boost are very technically advanced products that do exactly what they claim,’ explained Jo Gosden, new product development manager for Challs. ‘It is imperative therefore that the packs effectively convey these capabilities while at the same time creating a quality image and a strong presence on shelf. Combining these colorful and attractive sleeves with our custom-designed containers has exactly achieved this objective.’ 

CCL Decorative Sleeves was chosen for the project having already supplied sleeves for Challs’ Buster plughole unblocker and sink treatment range. 

‘We moved from labels to sleeves for Buster and could not imagine returning to labels again,’ continued Gosden. ‘Sleeves provide far greater flexibility in terms of both decoration impact and product information. We are also delighted by the high level of service provided by CCL Decorative Sleeves.’
