Michelman has added new reactor capacity at its Cincinnati, Ohio, headquarters, citing increased demand and the desire to serve better its growing US customer base.

Michelman has also been adding personnel in business units and departments throughout the company. Reactors are used in the processing of a variety of the many water-based surface modifiers, additives and polymers Michelman offers for applications including interior and exterior wood coatings, industrial coatings, fibers and composites, construction coatings, digital printing, paper and packaging.

Laurie Thomas, vice president, supply chain, said: ‘Our US business volume has rebounded sharply this year, with most every market segment exceeding 2008 levels. The reactor capacity we’ve added increases our output capabilities by 20 to 25 percent and will allow us to better serve our growing customer base. We’re going to continue to aggressively invest appropriately in people, and in technology and equipment in order to continue providing the world-class service and response time our customers have come to expect.’
