DG press Thallo printing presses installed and in production at first customers
Belgium’s Vuye Flexible Packaging and Dutch printer Wesselink Drukwerk have installed the world’s first Thallo sleeve web offset presses from DG press. Both customers are already running full production with the machines.
The 7-color Thallo at Vuye Flexible Packaging was the first Thallo to be installed, while Wesselink Drukwerk recently held an open house to present its 5-color version. Both presses were on show at a DG press open house earlier this year, where a third Thallo printing press was sold to a Russian customer. This press will be shown at DG press' facility during drupa 2016.
DG press is using remote diagnostic tools to monitor production at its two launch customers, checking the current status of the machine and the printing speed.
DG press director Peter Kloppers said: ‘We are very proud of the fact that both customers are satisfied. One of our customers is already working in two shifts for its jobs printed on the Thallo.’
DG press was formed in 2009 to service legacy Drent Goebel machines in the market, but has since expanded its remit to cover the development of new press platforms, as well as continuing to advance its service offering. ‘In six years we have now successfully shown the world our manufacturing capabilities. DG press has grown from a service provider with 12 ex-Drent Goebel employees to a company that builds new generation sleeve web offset printing presses, with a team of over 70 employees,’ added Kloppers.
DG press recently ran a campaign to promote web offset to flexo printers, including a series of educational videos detailing the use of web offset as an alternative to flexography for printing on flexible materials.
