The highly configured 10-color all UV press comes with added features such as cold foil, turnbar, delam and relam. Other features include one gear for each flexo unit, and a rock and roll matrix system that removes complex matrix shapes at the maximum press speeds. Easy change die-cutting, iLight and iVision for register control are standard features of iFlex presses.

The flexo press will be used to cater to various markets such as self-adhesive labels, booklet and coupon labels, aluminum foils and unsupported films.

Huhtamäki is to receive the Omet iFlex press for its new plant in India by January 2017.

Omet’s Paolo Grasso said: ‘Though it is an entry level press from Omet, we are glad that it has been chosen by one of the biggest and most prominent printing companies, which recognizes the features of the press and that the technology offers good return on investment.’

Harveer Sahni, managing director, Weldon Celloplast, said: ‘Huhtamaki PPL Webtech Labels conducted a thorough trial of the press, evaluating it on wastage, set-up, performance and ROI. Omet iFlex came the front runner in all these parameters making it the perfect choice for the company. Considering Huhtamaki works with many press manufacturers, getting this order from them, means its belief in Omet’s vision of developing and delivering smart, high production, next-generation self-adhesive label presses.’

Of Labelexpo India 2016, Sahni added: ‘I expect this edition of Labelexpo India to be a very serious show, attracting quality visitors from all over India’
