Mark Andy sells Digital One trio in Mexico

Mark Andy has confirmed sales of Digital One presses to Color Digital, Etiprint and Matecmex Label as it reports a successful conclusion in Mexico to its roadshow series for the entry-level digital press.

Color Digital is one of three Mexican companies to have bought a Mark Andy Digital One

Roadshow events in Monterrey and Guadalajara, Mexico in early December attracted more than 65 converters and printers.

Mark Andy identified that converters in Mexico are seeing increased demands for short-run work and shorter lead times. End users adopting just-in-time (JIT) inventory strategies have forced today’s label providers to increase efficiency and decrease waste.

Hector Martinez, owner of Color Digital, noted that many of his high-volume customers are beginning to shift towards short-run work. It is claimed that Digital One will allow Color Digital to become a single source to the brand owner by enabling it to produce short runs of labels efficiently and keep from overburdening other technology, such as its Mark Andy Performance Series P3 press.

‘I recognize that the industry will continue to trend towards short run adaptability,’ said Martinez. ‘I view the Digital One as Color Digital’s first step into what will be a long digital path.’

John Vigna, sales manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at Mark Andy, said: ‘Digital One brings the everyday converter the first all-in-one digital hybrid solution. Smaller print shops can finally compete against comparable digital assets at less than a third of the initial capital investment; all without sacrificing print quality.’
