Grafotronic develops 160m/min semi-rotary die-cutting module
Grafotronic has developed GigaFast, a semi-rotary die-cutting module for finishing digitally printed labels that can reach a speed of 160m/min.
To be launched at Labelexpo Europe 2017, the internationally patented GigaFast is available as a module for the fully modular DCL2 finishing line. It is available as a retrofit option. The first orders are scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of 2018.
Grafotronic is placing a strong focus on digital finishing at Labelexpo Europe 2017, with five different models for this segment on show.
Mattias Malmqvist, vice president of sales at Grafotronic, said: ‘This fantastic innovation takes our digital finishing range to a new level. Our customers will be able to finish digitally printed labels at 160m/min. We will combine this with our well-known solutions for non-stop production with automatic turrets, closed chambers for high speed printing and automatic knife positioning.
Tomasz Skrobik, vice president of production and operation at Grafotronic, said: ‘We have been working on this new concept for a long time and we are of course very excited about finally showing it to our customers. This is a big breakthrough in semi-rotary die-cutting technology.’
