Highcon details Euclid updates
Highcon has been working on the market presence of its Euclid digital cutting and creasing system for folding carton production, with new channels and application possibilities opened up.
Highcon has appointed new distribution partners all over the world, including A to Z Graphic Solutions in Israel, Canadian Printing Equipment in Canada, Castiel Group in Mexico, Matset in Turkey, MGraf in Italy and Monotech Systems in India, as previously reported by Packprint World.
Meanwhile, feedback from early adopters of the Euclid, such as Glossop Cartons in the UK and Anro in the US, has allowed Highcon to introduction various new features and capabilities.
Highcon Euclid customers have been putting the machine through its paces and produced work on substrates beyond the initial specifications, including fluted board, 0.25 mm (10pt) substrate and metallic coated board. They have also shown that self-adhesive label and sticker converting are possibilities.
In addition, the separation of the cutting and creasing processes on the Euclid has allowed increased flexibility, and for the creation of reverse scoring with no need for additional equipment or complex dies.
Highcon has also developed a Light Editor software tool that allows last minute editing of crease and cut lines, partial cutting depth control, sharp angled cut control and individual box personalization.
These hardware updates coincide with the appointment of Manuel Perez Castellano to the position of sales manager for Europe.
