Nilpeter launches digital product line at Labelexpo
Nilpeter will launch a new digital product line at Labelexpo Europe 2015. The Panorama line uses UV inkjet and workflow technology developed by Screen and an integrated finishing line newly developed by Nilpeter.
‘Nilpeter will be responsible for printing, converting, finishing and workflow - thus the Panorama 360 view,’ said Nilpeter sales and marketing director Jakob Landberg. The press will be supported by Nilpeter’s safe service setup, with remote repair assistance, maintenance and trouble-shooting.
The print engine will be branded the Nilpeter DP-3 and uses Screen’s Truepress imaging technology to deliver a top speed of 50m/min (164ft/min) at 600 DPI resolution with four gray scales.
Nilpeter has developed its own converting system as part of the Panorama project and the strategy will be to make both in- and off-line solutions available. The first step - revealed at Labelexpo 2015 - will be configured with 5-color inkjet (CMYK plus white), UV flexo varnish, QC (Quick Change) die cutting, smart waste handling and multi-roll rewinding.
Explains Landberg. ‘The next steps are to integrate our other value adding features like flatbed hot foil, embossing, UV screen and water-based flexo 12 months down the line'.
'This will be a hybrid future based on a new flexo platform that will form the base for our converting and can integrate all value adding units from the FA* line.’
Screen’s Equios digital front end) provides a fully automated workflow including typeface optimization, automated step and repeat functions, and Pantone color matching.
'For years, Nilpeter and Screen have founded a successful partnership in Japan and we look forward to strengthen our relationship further,’ said Landberg.
The press can be seen on Nilpeter’s stand in Hall 7, stand 7B35. Also featured at Labelexpo Europe 2015 will be Nilpeter’s FA-4*, which is to be demonstrated in the Packprint Workshop in Hall 8, and dedicated to flexible package printing.
