Six to contest Pro Carton Young Designers Award
Six entries have been selected as finalists in the Pro Carton Young Designers Award.
The finalists in 2014 include: Alisa Feldhofer with her Apple & Juice entry, which has been designed to attract attention and generate a positive purchasing decision simply because of the appearance of the packaging; Marie-Sophie Fischer with the Save a Bug entry, a live trap for insects completely made of 100 percent recyclable carton to transport them from inside to outdoors; Magdalena Witkowicz with The Penguin, which has been designed with a dosing mechanism to help teach children how to take vitamins; Miriam Derler and The Scroll, a new pencil case design; Reinhart Glöckl and Winebadge, a place mat fitted directly to a wine glass; and the Mime entry, designed by Kalina Hristova, Simon Kallus, Roman Plaßmann and Simon Zimpfer, which is a beverage chilling device for champagne that is found in the freezer section of retail outlets and brings the drink from room temperature to drinking temperature in half an hour.
The winner is to be announced at a reception on September 18 as part of the ECMA Pro Carton Congress.
