Northern California, US-based Converting Equipment International (CEI) has rolled out its next series of slitter rewinders to add to the company’s range of finishing and die cutting equipment. With servo control, the 130 inspection slitter rewinders come loaded with a variety of standard features.

The slitters run at 1800 fpm (600 m/min), and the multi axis servo and touch screen operator interface allows for exact tension requirements and control over delicate films as well as heavy tag stocks.

CEI offers  slip differential rewind shafts, which independently control the tension throughout each slit lane, meaning gauge bands throughout films and certain papers are eliminated, bringing consistency with all slit rolls at all times. CEI reports it has customers slitting 15 across in .625 wide lanes running 1200 fpm (400 meters per minute).

The CEI comes in two widths that will accommodate most printing presses on the market today; the 13” (330mm) will handle a 14.75” (375mm) and the 16” (420mm) which can handle 17.75” (450mm).

The CEI slitters are capable of running 24” dual rewinds. If required, a variety of specific or customized components may be added at any time, including servo driven waste take up, 100% inspection using any type of camera manufacture, trim extraction, missing label detection using ultra sonic clear on clear sensors, closed loop tension controls, lay on rollers, and crush knife slitting.
