Kammann announces new web machine for combined screen/offset printing

Kammann has announced the K61-OS, a web printing machine for combined screen/offset applications. ‘The superior, engineered design of the K61-OS offers the highest level of quality while increasing production efficiency,’ according to a statement.
‘The K61-OS is the latest precision tool developed by Kammann to meet the demand for an end-to-end controlled printing process that delivers the most consistent and highest-quality output,’ said Steve Gilbertson, president of Kammann Machines. ‘It was developed to address the increasing need in the marketplace for precision in-line printing and finishing with shorter production time and less rework.’
A unique feature of the K61-OS is its patented 30 angled screen, for consistent edge-to-edge definition and reduction of friction. The angled screen is claimed to provide optimized ink transfer which results in much higher-quality printing than is possible with traditional flat-screen methods.
The high-precision performance and modularity of the K61-OS has also allowed Kammann to offer it as a turn-key solution for producing printed/converted products in the disposable medical devices industry.
The company says that advantages offered by the K61-OS include:
* Continuous web transport for tight tolerance production
* Elimination of heavy/costly backing materials and peel-off
* Higher precision, reduced friction
* Roll-to-roll efficiency
* Servo-controlled screen printing
* Automatic registration adjustment
* Single pass production
* In-line finishing
* Leading industry production speed
* Smaller footprint
* Extendable modular layout
* Reduced rework
Kammann has provided field-proven precision-based print and converting solutions since 1978.
