Omet launches JetPlus digital unit
At drupa 2012, Italian press manufacturer Omet has launched JetPlus, a digital inkjet unit which can be combined inline both on XFlex X6 label presses or Varyflex V2 package platform presses for flexible packaging.
A 4-color unit is on display in Düsseldorf, which added to the inline finishing capabilities of Omet presses offers high-quality printing at an average speed of 60 meters per minute. The XFlex X6 mounting JetPlus is printing complex jobs that see a combination of technologies: flexo, inkjet, screen and cold foil.
With a changeover completed in just three minutes (from 9 to 12in), the first subject is changed to two complex wine labels, whose hard die-cutting is made easy by the use of Monotwin Cut, a tool offering high speed rates and no downtimes for die or cylinder change (only the flexible die is replaced, both magnetic die and cylinder fit any cut). JetPlus is equipped with an automatic washing system which prevents the ink on the printing heads from drying even when the press is on stand-by.
