Packaging Personified invests in TWEN anilox cleaning system
Flexible packaging specialist automates anilox roll maintenance and enhances efficiency.

US-based flexible packaging specialist Packaging Personified has invested in the TWEN Anilox Laser Cleaning System, which is a major step forward in automating anilox roll maintenance, improving print consistency and increasing productivity.
Packaging Personified recognized an opportunity to enhance the efficiency and consistency of its anilox roll cleaning process. Previously, the company relied on a liquid-based cleaning system that required manual oversight and post-inspection to maintain optimal results. This method often led to variability in roll cleanliness, increased color-matching time, and production delays.
‘Maintaining consistent cleaning quality was time-consuming,’ said Joe Imburgia, general manager at Packaging Personified. ‘If we lost focus, the cleaning outcome wasn’t as precise, leading to added color-matching time and extended roller downtime.’
Looking for a more effective, automated technology, APR introduced Packaging Personified to the TWEN Anilox Laser Cleaning System, which is designed to provide precise, repeatable results without manual intervention.
Unlike traditional cleaning methods, TWEN’s system uses advanced laser technology to remove ink, coatings and debris from anilox rolls safely and efficiently. It also integrates real-time roll measurement and topography scanning, ensuring consistent and accurate cleaning every time.
‘TWEN’s system simplifies our cleaning process and gives us reliable data without requiring extra personnel to perform repetitive tasks,’ added Imburgia. ‘Implementing TWEN felt like a natural next step toward improving our operations.’
Once fully operational, the TWEN system is expected to deliver immediate benefits, including consistent anilox roll cleanliness, elimination of manual inspections, minimized downtime and production delays and extended anilox roll lifespan through safer, non-abrasive cleaning.
Projected ROI in under a year, driven by labor savings and optimized production
‘With the level of efficiency and cleanliness TWEN provides, this will be a highly valuable investment for us,’ concluded Imburgia.
