Karamello invests in HP Indigo and ABG equipment

Swedish packaging and branding specialist Karamello has invested strategically in advanced printing technology, including HP Indigo and ABG equipment, to increase its production capacity. Visutech, a representative of both brands in the region, supplied the machinery.

As one of the leading players in packaging and branding promotional confectionery, Karamello has undertaken a significant investment in digital printing technology, installing multiple new presses through Visutech, a supplier of digital production equipment in the Nordic market.

 Karamello has strengthened its production capacity and created new business opportunities by investing in an HP Indigo 6900 pre-owned press, with 7 colors and with an In-line priming unit, as well as an AB Graphics Digicon Series 3 with the possibility to run both labels and flexible packaging.

The goal of this investment is to improve production reliability, shorten lead times for customers, and guarantee high-quality printing.

To meet the increased demand and expand production capacity, Karamello has hired new employees for its production unit in Linköping. Additionally, some of the production that was previously handled overseas has now been relocated to Sweden, resulting in the creation of more local jobs.

This new digital printing technology enhances Karamello's market position and allows the company to offer printing services to other customers. Karamello plans to expand its offerings beyond confectionery and provide customized printing for various industries.
