Konica Minolta and SOS organize 'color match of the day' event

The event will take place at Konica Minolta’s client engagement center in Houghton Regis, near Luton, on February 5 and 6, 2025.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) and Service Offset Supplies (SOS) have planned a joint two-day 'color match of the day' event focused on color matching across multiple devices. The event will take place at Konica Minolta’s Client Engagement Center in Houghton Regis, near Luton, on February 5 and 6, 2025 and will include one of the first European public showings of a brand-new machine from Roland DG.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience live demonstrations of the latest print and cut process from Konica Minolta, Roland DG, Vivid and Graphtec, accompanied by the expert team from SOS, an independent supplier and distributor of lithographic and digital printing supplies to the commercial offset litho, web and digital printing industries.

'Most printers are now producing using more than one print technology, so color matching across devices is more important than ever,' said Ashley Fleming, joint managing director at SOS. 'As one of the few UK suppliers qualified to issue Fogra certification, we take accurate cross-platform color very seriously. Color match of the day will show not only the best in print output, but it will also demonstrate how to keep those colors consistent on uncoated stocks.'

Alongside Konica Minolta’s digital, label and embellishment machines, SOS will showcase two Roland 64-inch wide format printers. This event will include one of the first public demonstrations of the new TrueVIS XP-640 in the UK and EMEA, for eco-solvent inks users. This new product features advanced high-speed data control technology, newly designed dual staggered print heads, and ejects finer ink droplets at a higher density and speed. It will be displayed along with Roland TrueVIS LG640, which uses eco-UV inks, staggered print heads, true rich color, and a wealth of user-friendly features that represent the ultimate in professional UV print and cut.

The event will also feature Vivid's Easymount 1600SH roll laminator and Graphtec's WID laser cut and engraving equipment.

Cameron Mitchell, business leader for indirect channel at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), added: 'The Konica Minolta client engagement center was built to be a state-of-the-art center of excellence. It is a place where the UK print industry can learn about the latest technology, innovations and applications. The color match of the day event embodies this ambition, and we are pleased to be working with SOS to host this important event.'
