Multi-Label Tech-Print adds Domino N610i digital label press

Indian converter sees an increase in volumes and net new customers with the new press.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India-based Multi-Label Tech-Print, a part of offset print company Multi Printers Group has installed a Domino N610i digital label press with a vision to meet evolving printing demands.

Established in 1996, Multi Printers Group started with prepress services and expanded over the years. In 2002, it added digital printing with a cut-sheet digital machine, and in 2006, it invested in offset printing, growing to serve over 250 clients.

The company's adaptability and dedication to excellence led to growth, adding post-press services in 2015 which included drip-off coating, binding, and slitting jobs and launching Multi-Label Tech-Print for label printing in 2023.

‘In our pursuit of excellence, we have always strived to stay ahead of the curve,’ said Sanjay Kikani, one of the partners at Multi Label Tech - Print. ‘With the rapid evolution of printing technology, it became imperative for us to explore innovative solutions that could elevate our label printing capabilities.

‘We were catering to the label and carton printing requirements of the leading homegrown brands, and they were very much happy with our offerings. As these homegrown brands started becoming big with the advent of expanding e-commerce, they started asking us to supply printed labels in roll form. This made us realize that it’s time for us to invest in suitable technology to fulfill our growing customer’s requirements.’

Tushar Sutariya, another partner at Multi-Label Tech - Print, shared his experience of identifying the right machine to begin the company’s journey in printing labels in roll form. ‘After thorough research on the available flexo printing machines and having several discussions with industry experts and well-wishers, we realized that digital printing is the way for us to cater to diverse and varying volume requirements that our customers have.’

The company experienced Domino N610i digital label press at Labelexpo India in Greater Noida. At the show, it visited other digital press suppliers and were impressed by the capabilities of the Domino N610i.

The Multi-Label Tech - Print further engaged with the local representative of the Domino team and agreed to have an in-person demonstration of the machine where its actual jobs were to be printed.

Sutariya added that the converter was impressed with the way entire demonstration was handled. ‘The color reproduction met our requirements and matched closely to our existing offset printed labels. Domino applications team explained to us the benefits of Esko Digital Front End and its color management capabilities. Domino N610i’s advanced features and impressive performance convinced us that it was the right investment for our business.’

Sameer Pancholi, the printing supervisor based in the factory, highlighted: ‘Today, we are proud to offer label printing on various substrates catering to diverse industries such as nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and beverage, agrochemical, home and personal care. The technical features of the Domino N610i when combined with three flexo printing units for inline priming, cold foiling, and varnishing have significantly enhanced our efficiency, resulting in savings through increased productivity and substantial reduction in wastage.’

Kikani added that Domino N610i has not only boosted operational efficiency but has also fueled business growth for Multi-Label Tech-Print. Domino’s (DSP) Digital Solution Program is comprehensive and focused on the success of label printers. The manufacturer’s support, from installation to service, regular handholding, and continuous engagement was instrumental in the converter’s success. Multi-Label Tech-Print's label business has seen an increase in volumes and net new customers with the new press.

Ajay RaoRane, vice president digital printing at Domino Printech India, said: ‘Sanjay, Tushar and their entire team at Multi-Label Tech-Print are demanding when it comes to delivering quality products on time to their customers. I experienced the same when I met them for demonstration of the N610i press. They both were specific about what they wanted as the output. Our team enjoyed fulfilling their requirements. Both partners are always eager to learn and offer something new to their customers and enable them sell more of their products to the end consumers. Our entire team continues to enjoy working and collaborating with them. I have a lot of confidence in their capabilities to scale their labelling business to newer heights and have multiple Domino N series machines on their shop floor. We are happy to be part of their growth journey.’

The machine installed at Multi-Label Tech-Print is based on the hybrid platform where the Domino N610i print engine is integrated with the advanced flexo printing platform from UV Graphics that comprises 3 flexo printing stations, cold foiling stations, and a web turn bar for printing specialty labels.
