Avvo installs Screen Truepress Jet digital press
The press will help Avvo meet growing demand for digital print in South Africa
Avvo, a South African label manufacturer, has installed a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S digital press to broaden its business for self-adhesive and other labels. The company is one of the region’s largest suppliers of self-adhesive labels.
Ronnie Rampirith, general manager, Avvo, said: ‘To keep up with the demand for digital printing, we took the leap and invested in a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S, our second Screen inkjet press in a few years. After the challenging Covid-19 period and devastating floods in 2022 that directly affected the company, this new machine will help us get back on our feet.’
Rampirith added: ‘It was important for us to continue growing, increase our capacity, and expand our portfolio. The machine’s ability to deliver fast turnaround times with consistent quality has allowed us to retain our market competitiveness.’
Avvo chose the L350UV SAI S label press for its production speed of 60 meters in a minute, printheads that provide smooth reproduction of halftone images, and color blending that allows subtle tones and photorealistic quality.
The new inkjet technology will further enhance Avvo’s efficiency. The Durban-based company specializes in one-to-8-color self-adhesive labels, including barcode, garment, computer, wraparound, and shrink-sleeve labels.
Avvo has fully integrated the new Truepress L350UV SAI S with a Rotocon Ecoline RDF 330 digital finishing machine. Both the machines were installed and serviced with the help of Screen’s South African agent, Rotocon, which handles substrate thickness from 40 to 250 grams meters squared, and the UV ink curing system supports printing on any media.
