Socipack acquires Comexi S2 D2 slitter-rewinder
Socipack, Société Ivorienne de Packaging, an Ivory Coast converter has invested in Comexi S2 D2 slitter-rewinder for its headquarters in Abidjan and further strengthened the relationship with the Spanish manufacturer.
The relationship between the two companies dates back to 2016 when Socipack purchased its first set of Comexi machines. Today, the converter operates two Comexi presses, three laminators, and two slitters. The new Comexi S2 DS will be the company’s third slitter and the eighth Comexi machine.
Socipack specializes in flexible packaging, labelling, sleeves, multilayer extrusion, and stretch film. It exports finished products to the African market, and also imports raw materials for the manufacturing of plastic labels and packaging. As a result of the company’s Comexi machine purchases, Socipack has become one of the fastest growing companies in the African flexible packaging and food packaging sectors.
Through Comexi’s technologies, Socipack has increased its productivity and capabilities, producing a wider range of products and applications, thus strengthening its position as one of the leading companies in the African flexible packaging market.
‘Socipack has depended on us from the beginning. With the help of Comexi, it has become one of the most important companies in this sector,’ said Miquel Gironès, Comexi’s area sales manager for this region. ‘Through its general partnership with Comexi, Socipack has been advised by us regarding the purchase of the necessary machinery.’
‘Socipack is the key player in the region, a young and dynamic company capable of providing films, packaging, and labels with the highest quality standards,’ added Alex Mas, sales manager at BLG International, Comexi’s agent in the Ivory Coast.
