Voyantic enhances RAIN RFID converting with Tagsurance 3 system

The latest release allows encoding and quality control of RFID labels in high-speed production machines.

Voyantic has introduced a new encoding feature for the Tagsurance 3 quality testing system. This latest software release allows for the encoding and quality control of RAIN RFID labels in high-speed production machines using a single system.

According to Voyantic, the demand for RAIN RFID labels is projected to grow exponentially, with billions produced each year. Consequently, manufacturers require integrated, high-speed systems. The Tagsurance 3 system, featuring an encoding capability, fulfills this demand by allowing easy integration into production lines and removing the need for external encoding technologies.

The Tagsurance 3 system is modular and scalable, easily fitting into various machine types. Its user-friendly, browser-based operating UI facilitates adoption at sites.

‘At Voyantic, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that help our customers excel in RFID,’ said Jukka Voutilainen, Voyantic’s general manager. ‘This upgrade significantly enhances the Tagsurance 3 system’s capabilities, making it a powerful all-in-one solution for RAIN RFID inlay and label production.’

The Tagsurance 3 system maintains high throughput while preserving the speed and efficiency of the production process. It supports encoding in high-speed machines and can achieve lane speeds for converting machines.

Moreover, the system’s reliability is critical. Non-encoded, improperly encoded, or double-coded labels can pose serious challenges for RAIN RFID users. To tackle this, the Tagsurance 3 system is designed for continuous, error-free operation during prolonged production runs, ensuring high standards of reliability in large-volume manufacturing.

The main specifications include support for one encoding station per lane, allowing for ‘BlockWrite’ data to any writable tag memory while locking the tag memories, including Reserved, EPC and User. It supports ISO 18000-63 (EPC Gen2v3) commands such as BlockWrite, Lock, and Read across up to 12 lanes, with the ability to lock the selected memories permanently. Additionally, it verifies that the data is correctly encoded through a read test with verification.

The commercial release of the Tagsurance 3 encoding feature will be offered as an additional software license. A hardware version 4.x is required to utilize this feature.
