Rajesh Nema appointed as president of LMAI
The board of directors of Label Manufacturers Association of India (LMAI) has appointed Rajesh Nema, director of Pragati Graphics and Packaging as the new president of LMAI during a virtual board meeting on August 9, 2021. Nema previously held the position of honorary secretary of LMAI.
As the new president, Nema said that he feels honored with a huge sense of responsibility.
Under his leadership, the association will work towards enriching the label converter community through new learning programs in the technical and non-technical space. The association will also hold events including LMAI Conference, LMAI Awards and support Labelexpo India 2022.
Nema added that the label community is facing big challenges during these times including health issues, paucity of skilled labor, frequent and exorbitant price rise of raw materials and sky-rocketing logistics costs.
‘These costs increase and challenges are not getting translated into increased sale price of labels,’ he explained.
LMAI is addressing these issues through several webinars under its ‘Knowledge – Accelerating growth’ series which can be both technical and non-technical. The series is designed for owners, directors and senior managers of member companies.
It will also enable learning at the shopfloor level through its ‘Learn and improve’ program on the technical aspects of label production.
Commenting on the upcoming Labelexpo India 2022, Nema said: ‘We will see huge numbers of visitors at Labelexpo India with a surge in exhibitors. Labelexpo India will showcase latest innovations and will be a great opportunity to meet the label community post-pandemic. I and all members of LMAI are looking forward to an exciting exhibition.’
