MPH invests in Esko CDI Spark imager
Pre-press and platemaking company, MPH, has doubled its flexo plate production with the addition of a new Esko CDI spark imager at its Essex facility.
Founded in 1982, MPH started out as a pre-press artwork studio and platemaking business. Following a management buyout of the business in 2020, the entire facility relocated to a factory space along the river Stour in Manningtree, Essex. The company already had a CDI and now has invested in a second one at its facility.
MPH director Ian Runacres said the latest hardware acquisition represents company’s commitment to innovation and delivering quality plates to its customers. ‘With the addition of a second CDI spark imager we're supercharging our plate production capabilities, immediately doubling our capacity for top-notch plate manufacturing,’ said Runacres. ‘This investment aligns seamlessly with our dedication to delivering high-quality flexographic printing solutions with increased efficiency and precision.’
He further added: ‘Following our recent investment in a brand new Vianord Engineering flexographic plate processor, the integration of this second Esko CDI imager into our production is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance our processes and deliver unparalleled results to our clients. Our philosophy has always been to keep at the cutting edge of development and this latest investment enables us to offer our clients the best technology to meet market demand.
‘We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology, and this newest installation brings our total investment to nearly half a million pounds (USD 65mn approximately) since 2020 alone.’
Mike Ball, sales account manager with Esko, said the investment in the second CDI reinforced the commitment of Runacres and the rest of the MPH management team to elevating its services, meeting growing demands, and exceeding expectations.
‘The Esko CDI can be configured to match specific current production needs and has the versatility to expand capabilities as a business grows – something MPH know all about,’ he said. ‘We have worked with MPH for a number of years, and it is heartening to see the success they’ve enjoyed in recent years following the change of ownership.
‘The Esko CDI is renowned for setting standards in flexo plate production, with proven laser imaging technology and high-resolution optics delivering superior plates, and reliability built in to ensure optimum productivity,’ said Ball. ‘The fact that MPH is adding its second is the best endorsement we could ask for from a customer.’
