Konica Minolta joins Two Sides to promote sustainable printing in UK
The two companies aim to inspire and educate businesses and consumers about sustainability and the potential of responsible printing.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has partnered with the not-for-profit sustainable print and paper packaging initiative Two Sides to educate and inspire businesses and consumers about the sustainability and potential of responsible print.
Konica Minolta joins the Two Sides campaign's growing partnership of supporters and collaborators, which range from a diverse selection of sectors including forestry, pulp and paper manufacturing, packaging, inks, pre-press, press, finishing, publishing, printing, envelopes and postal operators.
Malcolm Smith, category manager, professional print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), stated: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Two Sides to highlight the sustainability potential of print as part of our broader environmental, social and governance commitments.’
Biennially, Two Sides conducts a trend tracker survey into public preconceptions and beliefs. According to its latest survey (published in 2023), 41 percent of people surveyed believed paper was a wasteful product. However, figures from Confederation of European Paper Industries (Cepi) key statistics 2022 indicate that 49 percent of fibrous raw materials used in Europe’s paper industry comes from paper for recycling. In Europe, 71 percent of paper (European Paper Recycling Council, Monitoring Report, 2022) and 83 percent of cardboard packaging (Eurostat, 2021) is recycled.
As part of its ESG framework, Konica Minolta aims to keep evolving and contributing to the sustainable growth of society and individuals. Its ESG approach is guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on climate action, which is considered the most pressing priority.
