Andrea Vimercati takes over reins at FINAT

The tough economic conditions have become the stimulant for Italy’s Andrea Vimercati as he takes over the leadership of FINAT, the global trade association for the self-adhesive label industry.
Vimercati, 37, sales manager at Pilot Italia, takes over from Jan Frederik Vink to steer FINAT for the next two years. ‘To be leading the organization at such a tough moment will stimulate my enthusiasm for taking it into the future,’ he said.
Vimercati joined the FINAT Board in 2002 and has been an active member of both its Membership Committee and its Converters’ Committee as well as being the key link between the organization and GIPEA (the Italian national trade association). He has also been a Board member of Assografici Young Managers’ Group since 2004.
He said: ‘In these challenging times I see a special responsibility for making our members aware of sustainability, innovation and the need for changes in companies’ organization to ensure that they survive through the current difficulties that are affecting the world’s economy.
‘I also believe it is important for FINAT, America’s TLMI and our national trade association members to have closer relationships as we jointly continue to promote the benefits of self-adhesive labeling to customers who need the labels’ appeal to stimulate their businesses.’
