Uflex orders Comexi Futura laminator to facilitate growth

India-based flexible packaging giant Uflex has placed an order for a Comexi Futura holographic laminator, its third investment in this model in the last year.

Uflex finalized the order for its latest Comexi Futura at K 2016

Comexi Futura is a versatile machine that can handle LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE, BOPP, PET, PA, aluminum foil, paper and coextruded films. It has a maximum speed of 450m/min, a maximum web width of 1330mm and a maximum/minimum laminate width of 1315/600mm. It delivers a holographic finish through Cast & Cure technology, creating a highly attractive visual register effect using a UV lacquer without the need for laminating. It is completely free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Further, Comexi Futura allows cold foil application, UV laminating, the use of different coatings to give an attractive finish to the product, and the possibility of solventless laminating.

With this third holographic laminator, Uflex has become Comexi’s biggest Asian laminating partner with more than 20 high added value machines installed over the last 10 years. The relationship between the two organizations dates back to 2007 when a Comexi Nexus laminator was installed at Uflex.

Comexi president Manel Xifra commented: ‘We are proud to have become a close supplier for Uflex and are working towards developing new ways to increase our collaboration.’

Ashok Chaturvedi, Uflex chairman and managing director, added: ‘The trust between Uflex and Comexi has grown over the years and has contributed to our journey of being ahead of the competition.’
