UPM Raflatac has named Collotype Labels Italia as the winner of the first RafCycle Award

The RafCycle Award is presented in recognition of excellence in recycling and environmental performance. In Italy, RafCycle is supported by LCI, a joint venture between Rowe GmbH and UPM for collecting various recovered paper grades from the local paper business.

UPM Raflatac said Collotype Labels Italia has demonstrated a solid commitment to improving the environmental performance of self-adhesive labeling and promoting the sustainability of the entire labelling business.

Based on data from the first three quarters of this year, Collotype Labels Italia is on target to collect and return approximately 1,000 tonnes of self-adhesive matrix waste from their operations.

According to UPM Raflatac’s lifecycle assessment, this has reduced its carbon footprint by approximately 20 percent.

Collotype is also said to be committed to recycling glassine liner waste, and is actively promoting RafCycle to customers for the collection of spent glassine liner.
