BW Converting launches Meridian Elite+ laser roll cleaner

The new version introduces new levels of automation, precision and efficiency to flexographic printing companies.

BW Converting has launched PCMC Meridian Elite+, the latest evolution of its laser roll cleaning technology designed to deliver faster, smarter and more automated roll cleaning, reducing downtime while improving print quality and operational efficiency.

Building upon the success of the original PCMC Meridian Elite, the new Meridian Elite+ integrates a suite of innovations that enhance automation, precision and ease of use. With advanced roll inspection capabilities, intelligent cleaning adjustments and comprehensive roll tracking, the system ensures peak performance with minimal operator intervention.

‘The Meridian Elite+ represents a significant step forward in anilox and gravure roll cleaning technology,’ said Mike Branstrom, product manager at BW Converting. ‘By combining automation with smart, connected features, we are giving converters a powerful tool to optimize pressroom efficiency, extend roll life and maintain exceptional print quality.’

The Meridian Elite+ features an Automated Cell Volume Measurement Microscope which ensures real-time pre- and post-cleaning measurements, eliminating the need for manual checks and improving roll consistency.

The new Intelligent Roll Tracking and Reporting function is a cloud-based database records cleaning history, allowing operators to optimize maintenance schedules and maximize roll lifespan.

The latest version of the machine also features optimized cleaning with adaptive laser technology, which automatically adjusts cleaning intensity based on real-time roll condition, preventing over-cleaning and reducing unnecessary wear.

The machine is also enhanced for Industry 4.0 Connectivity with several features enabling remote monitoring, trend analysis and predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and increasing efficiency.

The Meridian Elite+ eliminates the need for water, chemicals or compressed air, significantly lowering operational costs and environmental impact.
