AM Labels expands linerless labeling offering

The new Arca 4.0 produces zero waste without disposing of the liner.

AM Labels has expanded its print and apply offering with an Arca linerless 4.0 print and apply system that produces zero waste without disposing of the silicone liner support.

The Arca linerless print and apply system has a maximum roll diameter of 360 mm and is designed to print on linerless label material with a 4-inch width. Utilizing either a Sato or Zebra thermal transfer print engine, it boasts printing speeds of up to 254 mm a second. It also offers a range of print options, including resolutions of 203, 300 and 600 DPI.

The new product can accommodate a label roll size of up to 40 percent longer than conventional material to further its ability to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system can operate in a number of different modes, including batch, where a number of labels have the same content, and real-time labeling, where a unique barcode is scanned on the product, a database is accessed for the corresponding information, and the label is then printed. In most cases, the label can be applied without stopping the product.

The control interface can store up to 90 different programs with set parameters that users can recall later. Users can also remotely check on the job's progress via the Arca app and receive push notifications, such as when the system is approaching the end of the label roll. A multi-colored beacon and several different acoustic signals will notify users when the roll or program has finished and if any errors occur with the printer or system.

The Arca print and apply system can be installed in various configurations, enabling businesses to apply labels using different methods, including top, side and bottom labeling.

The Arca linerless 4.0 is suitable for a variety of industries, including food and beverage production, health, beauty and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as manufacturing and distribution. AM Labels also offers an optional conveyor, which, when added to the print and apply system, can further enhance productivity.

Brendon Bass, sales and marketing manager of AM Labels, commented: ‘The Arca linerless 4.0 print and apply system is a technologically advanced and sustainable labeling solution that is ideal for a variety of labeling requirements. We recently demonstrated the Arca linerless model on our stand at the PPMA show, and it garnered significant interest from companies looking to enhance their productivity while reducing label waste. We can offer demonstrations of the print and apply system to prospective customers at our Technical Experience Centre also.’
