Registration opens for second edition of Flexo Gurukul
The second installment of Flexo Gurukul, a technical seminar organized by Fasco Printech, will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on October 27-28, two days before the commencement of Labelexpo India which, itself is taking place from October 29 to November 1 at the same venue.
The first Flexo Gurukul seminar was held in late April in Mumbai and delivered knowledge on the basics of flexo printing; the second edition is themed on controlling color in the flexo pressroom.
The second session of Flexo Gurukul will cover topics such as: reproduction expectations and challenges concerning spot colors and how to communicate spot color with sales people, the customer and the pressroom; creating and archiving custom spot color ink formulas; using formulas to blend ink more efficiently and consistently; recycling surplus spot color batches to keep ink inventory levels low and fresh; reproduction expectations and challenges concerning four-color process printing and how to communicate the four-color process with sales people, the customer and the pressroom; understanding density, dot gain, minimum dot and cut-back curves; and assembling, using and maintaining color standards including spot color and four-color process images.
Frank Burgos, president of USA-based FlexoExchange.com, is the teacher for the Flexo Gurukul seminars.

Registration opened today for the second session of Flexo Gurukul. Pawandeep Sahni said that more than 70 companies are expected to attend as most attendees from the first session confirmed their participation.
The first event at Mumbai was attended by more than 100 delegates that included leading names in narrow web flexo printing including Pragati Pack, Sai Packaging, Webtech, Zircon, Ajanta Packaging, Seljegat, Jain Transfer, Synergy Packaging, and Prakash Labels. There was presence from wide web flexo companies also, including Positive Packaging, PPL Huhtamaki, IDMC and Multiflex.
Suppliers at the event included Avery Dennison, UPM Raflatac, Siegwerk, Fujifilm Sericol, Kaygee Loparex, Rotometrics, Tesa Tapes, Esko Graphics, Daetwyler and X-Rite. Leading equipment suppliers like Windmöller & Hölscher, Nilpeter, Multitec and Jandu were also present.
