Tarsus completes London to Paris charity bike ride
Employees from Tarsus have helped a 23-strong team raise more than 20,000 GBP for Events for Namuwongo, an organization that works with the community in Kampala, Uganda.
Half of the 23-person team were employees of Tarsus, the publisher of Labels & Labeling and parent of Labelexpo Global Series, including managing director Douglas Emslie, and labels and packaging group chairman Roger Pellow.
The three-day ride took the team from London to the foot of the Arc de Triomphe in the French capital.
Events for Namuwongo is a partnership of companies and individuals from the events industry, formed to support Namuwongo, a slum community on the edge of Kampala in Uganda. This year Events for Namuwongo plans to raise 400,000 GBP to provide clean water, life-saving sanitation, essential health care, education for 500 children a year and free sanitary products. The money raised in the past and for this year’s challenge is needed for continued improvements of living conditions in Namuwongo.
The current total raised by the charity bike ride is near 22,000 GBP, although donations are still being welcomed at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/londontoparis14
