TLMI committees meet for Florida summit

More than 50 TLMI converter and supplier members gathered this week in Tampa, Florida for the association’s annual January Committee Summit, where attendees spent two days with their respective committees mapping out priorities and discussing objectives for the coming year and beyond.

For the first time, in 2016 the TLMI board of directors opened the summit to all of TLMI’s committees. The board’s objective in inviting all committees to attend was to further cultivate cooperation and idea sharing between groups, and to promote collaborative discussions and goals relevant to multiple committees.

The committees in attendance in Tampa included environmental health and safety, government and regulatory affairs, learning, marketing, membership, technical, and future leaders.

TLMI president Mark Tibbetts commented: ‘It was great to have the opportunity to meet TLMI members at this unique forum. As TLMI’s new President, I benefitted from the opportunity to see the association’s different committees at work and to meet with many converter and supplier members. The dedication of TLMI’s volunteer members was immediately apparent and I look forward to working closely with each group as I continue to get to know the committee co-chairs and their respective members better.’

Dan Muenzer, TLMI chairman, stated: ‘It was fantastic that our new president was able to witness the genuine camaraderie between our members and overall dedication of the association’s committees, which are the lifeblood of TLMI and continue to play such a direct role in helping our association thrive.’
