Roberto Martinez Porta appointed as Finat treasurer

Porta of Avery Dennison succeeded his colleague Noël Kasmi who has meanwhile left the label industry.

The Finat members have elected Roberto Martinez Porta (Avery Dennison) as Finat executive board member and treasurer at their general assembly held on the occasion of the European Label Forum 2024 from 22-24 May in Athens.

Porta succeeded his colleague Noël Kasmi who has meanwhile left the label industry and consequently had to step down from the board.

Porta is currently the vice president sales of labels and packaging materials as part of Avery Dennison’s Materials Group EMENA. Before joining the company in 2011, he worked as global category leader secondary packaging at Heineken.

At the meeting in Athens, Porta stated to look forward to contributing his expertise to the further development of Finat as the leading European trade organization for the labels sector: ‘The amount of change and opportunities ahead make this an exciting time to join the board of Finat. Being part of the industry as label material manufacturer and end-user, I am humbled to serve all members to continue driving our mission. As treasurer, count on my dedication with high standards of financial transparency as we accelerate both our collaboration and the sustainable growth of the label sector.’

Finat president Philippe Voet thanked Porta’s predecessor Kasmi for his engagement as Finat treasurer in the previous years, which coincided with a period of post-Covid changes in Finat’s organization and funding structure. He welcomed Porta to the Finat leadership team and looked forward to a successful continuation of this key position on the Finat board.
