AZ shows how to customize packaging at late-stage

Atlantic Zeiser showed its Digiline single product 300 at the recent Interpack expo.  It is an optimized end-to-end system for digital late-stage customization of packages and products within current production processes, and is capable of high-resolution digital printing of variable data on absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, including 3D packaging.

Co-operation with leading brand owners, pharmaceutical and packaging producers spurred the creation of flexible, scalable systems that are application oriented and customer focused.  A number of factors explain the increased demand for late-stage package customization, including the need to reduce costs by operating with smaller production quantities to minimize storage capacities; and just-in-time supply with short reaction times, especially with packages marked with variable data, such as barcodes and product ingredient information in different languages.

The Digiline system on display demonstrated pharma-package printing on different substrates from cardboard to plastics, including high-quality GS1 code printing on blister cardboard.  Configured with an Omega 72HD black printer for vertical printing on packages, the Digiline combines precision with quality and speed, and was fitted with a UV LED Smartcure 75/400 curing system for 720dpi resolution printing at speeds of up to 60 m/min.

The Digiline Single Product 300 is the first system from Atlantic Zeiser configured for the premium packaging market.  It is modular, offers flexible configuration for different feeding and transport options, marking technologies for standard and security inks, camera verification as well as delivery options, and is ideal for product tracking, gray market control and anti-counterfeiting within the packaging industries.
