Berry, Glatfelter to merge to create a global specialty materials leader
Berry will spin off and merge the majority of its health, hygiene and specialties unit to include its global nonwovens and films business with Glatfelter.
Berry Global and Glatfelter have entered into definitive agreements for Berry to spin off and merge the majority of its health, hygiene and specialties unit to include its global nonwovens and films business (HHNF) with Glatfelter.
The objective is to create a leading, publicly traded company in the specialty materials industry.
Between HHNF's portfolio of proprietary technologies with a focus on healthcare, hygiene and specialty end markets, and Glatfelter's broad range of innovation capabilities and sustainability solutions, this new combined company will offer a complementary product suite such as polymer-based and fiber-based solutions amid geographic diversification and a global presence.
Both companies' boards of directors have unanimously approved the transaction, marking a key milestone in Berry’s transition into a streamlined and focused provider of consumer packaging.
