Full ECMA Pro Carton Congress program revealed
The program for the ECMA Pro Carton Congress, entitled WhatsUp on Cartons? Multiple Challenges Ahead, has been revealed, with ECMA president Andreas Blaschke describing it as ‘one of the best programs we have ever had’.
The 2014 congress is the first co-organized by the two European associations, and takes place in Sorrento, Italy on September 17-20.
The core of the congress takes place across September 18-19, with Wednesday September 17 acting as a welcome day for attendees and September 20, a Saturday, featuring an optional tour to Capri.
September 18 will include presentations on Generation Y and its use of technology in all aspects of life, including interacting with brands and their packaging, and global food industry developments that are, and will, affect business and industry. Other topics on day one will address the requirements of retail throughout the supply chain and the importance of design, while Pro Carton will assess what effect multi-channel retailing has on packaging – what additional needs do the packaging supply chain partners have and what potential new tasks does packaging need to fulfil in future?
A third session on September 18 will look at innovation and its environment, and developments in pharmaceutical packaging.
September 19 will commence with a presentation on European multi-channel growth trends and implications, before presentations on food safety and sustainability.
Risk and decision making will feature after lunch on the second day of presentations, preceded by a Business Solutions Market, where three tracks of sessions will give insight to suppliers of technology and materials to the folding carton industry and the products they have for the multiple challenges that lie ahead.
