MPS expands portfolio with EF Packaging press

The new press is designed for flexible packaging and shrink sleeve applications.

MPS has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of the EF Packaging press targeted at flexible packaging and shrink sleeve applications operating at an extended web width of 26in

The MPS EF Packaging press builds on the foundation of the MPS EF narrow web press series and can open new markets and opportunities for label converters that are looking to venture into different market segments or flexible packaging converters that are looking for a press for short runs, MPS reported.

The EF Packaging press is specifically engineered for broad spectrum of applications, including wrap-around labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, laminated products and filmic labels or products.

The new EF Packaging press offers a wider print format that not only boosts production capacity but also offers quick change-over times between jobs and is designed with operators in mind, according to the company.

The press offers Crisp.Dot Technology for high-quality print and repeatability on a wide range of substrates. Its E-Sleeve Technology offers quick changeovers. MPS patented lightweight aluminum E-Sleeves offer an even distribution of print pressure and durability.

Lightweight, fast-change ink chamber doctor blade system can be used with or without an ink pump, in combination with the MPS slide-out ink drawer to minimize ink waste and enable fast ink changeovers, MPS said.

The EF Packaging press is equipped with advanced automation features including Fully Automatic Mark-to-Mark Register Setting for alignment, reducing errors and material waste. Dynamic and pre-settable impression settings allow faster job setup.

MPS Virtual Coach provides continuous guidance to operators based on real-time data from MPSConnect.

The EF Packaging press is fully customizable and customers can choose from additional modules to create the suitable press configuration for their specific needs.

MPS Rotogravure Printing Unit is suitable for adding water-based and solvent-based metallic inks, whites, or varnishes to prints.

MPS Solvent-Based Printing Unit can apply water-based and solvent-based primers, whites, or varnishes, allowing for a wide range of applications.

Turner bars are designed for printing on the reverse side of the material. Lamination modules can be used for laminating different materials.
