Copapharm's Palladio acquires Grafica Zannini

Italian carton packaging leader Palladio, part of European pharma packaging alliance Copapharm Europe, has acquired overall control of Grafica-Zannini SpA, the carton and labelling specialist.
Flaminio Farnesi and Eugenia Spiacci remain Grafica-Zannini shareholders, Flaminio Farnesi as company President and member of the board of directors, and Eugenia Spiacci as company Vice-President and member of the advisory board. Grafica-Zannini's current management remains in place and the company will continue to operate autonomously from Palladio whilst the two companies develop joint synergies, marketing strategies and production
innovations.
Grafica-Zannini and Palladio both specialise in the production of printed packaging materials for the pharmaceutical industry, and together share around 40 per cent of the Italian folding carton sector, with a combined turnover of around 50 million Euros and 350 staff. Palladio has two plants in Dueville and Thiene (Vicenza), mainly producing folding cartons and leaflets for the pharmaceutical industry, along with cosmetic products. Grafica-Zannini also has two plants, in Ospedaletto (Pisa) and Pontedera, plus major holdings in related companies in Tullamore, Ireland and Vrsac, Serbia. Grafica-Zannini not only specialises in folding cartons, but also in adhesive label production, pharmaceutical security labels (bollini), leaflets and printed aluminium for pharmaceuticals.
The Copapharm Alliance's member companies operate a total of 19 manufacturing sites across Europe.
