Durst-Omet hybrid press system launches at Labelexpo Americas
Durst has integrated Omet XFlex X6 modules into its Tau 330 UV platform to offer a range of in-line pre- and post-press options. The new press configuration will be launched at Labelexpo Americas in September.
The Tau 330 is a UV inkjet label press with more than 100 installations worldwide. It features a 330 mm (13in) print width, up to 7 colors (CMYKOVW) and offers printing speeds of up to 48m/min (169ft/min) with up to 1260 DPI print resolution. The 7-color engine achieves close to 90 percent of the pantone color gamut coverage.
The Omet integration provides a new primer station for increased material flexibility and a range of post-press finishing options for a complete in-line label production package.
Also shown for the first time in the US is the entry level Tau 330 E UV inkjet label press featuring high pigmented UV inks for reduced ink consumption. The Tau 330 E has a print width of 200mm or 330mm, with four or five colors and a printing speed of up to 48m/min (157ft/min) at a printing resolution of up to 1260 DPI.
In addition, Durst launches its own dedicated label workflow software suite. Durst Workflow-Label is a modular, expandable systrem whch includes order entry, pre-press, RIP, color management, ink costing and production data management. Functionality includes automated knock-out of non-print areas resulting in lower ink consumption, a browser-based interface for immediate job costing and what Durst says is an easy to use high speed variable data functionality.
All the above products will be showcased at Labelexpo Americas 2016.
