Edale completes charity challenge

A team of five from press manufacturer Edale took on the GRIM Challenge last weekend in an effort to raise money and awareness for the company’s chosen charity for 2012, Naomi House Children’s Hospice.

‘Team Edale’ included managing director James Boughton, head of sales Jeremy Westcott and technical manager Daryl Finter, plus two non-Edale members. The five took on the GRIM Challenge, which used land for testing army vehicles in Aldershot, Hampshire to put contestants through their paces and had them run, wade and crawl across the course.

Out of the five, Westcott came in first in a total of 1:05:15, Finter came in at 1:11:22 with Boughton shortly after with a time of 1:16:12.

Edale has chosen Naomi House as its charity for 2012 and any events or fundraising activities undertaken next year will see donations pledged to this charity. Naomi House is a hospice that provides support to children with conditions that mean they are unlikely to live to become adults. The charity provides care to families and young adults living in communities across the seven counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.

‘Team Edale’ has so far raised £320 for its efforts on the GRIM Challenge, and is still looking for donations as it aims to reach £500. To reward ‘Team Edale’ for its efforts in the GRIM Challenge, visit www.justgiving.com/TeamEdale.
