Fasson rolls out surplus exchange across Canada

Avery Dennison has expanded its RollXchange.com service to include Canada. Effective immediately, Canadian-based converters as well as those in the US now have an online tool to buy and sell not only Fasson brand, but any roll material. RollXchange.com, a web-based trading site for surplus roll materials, was first launched in the United States last fall. Converters selling product on RollXchange.com have the potential of recovered asset costs and reduced warehousing expenses. Sellers can reach hundreds of buyers with a single, easy-to-manage listing. Buyers have instantaneous access to thousands of discounted products, as well as the ability to buy only what’s needed and to get it fast. They also benefit from personalized ‘wish lists’ that generate automatic email notifications. Avery Dennison handles the time-consuming tasks of credit and collection and delivery logistics, including the issuance of commercial invoices needed for cross-border transactions.
Transactions are based on a 60-day double-blind ‘Dutch auction’ concept. Items are posted for 60 days and the price automatically drops 1/60th each day until it hits a floor price. Although buyers and sellers are not disclosed until the sale is complete, all RollXchange postings clearly indicate whether they’re sold from Canada or the United States.
