After a year and a half of construction, Leonhard Kurz has opened the new assembly and central building (KUZ) in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany.

The 4,000 square meters and approximately 15-meter high, ultra-modern building will be the new home of the assembly of the Business Area Industrial (BAI) products.

For the specialist in finishing and thin-film technology, the construction was the largest single investment of 2023 worldwide at around EUR 23 million.

In the new building, transfer products are assembled according to customer requirements. There are also new lounges and offices, changing rooms, showers and a modern visitor reception area.

Thanks to digitalization, many processes will be able to run even more efficiently in the future, and many workflows and processes have been optimized in many ways.

‘With our new assembly building, we are also securing our competitiveness on the market. We can offer our customers even better service and state-of-the-art technology that allows us to work even more efficiently and with more process optimization,’ said Dr Andreas Hirschfelder, CEO of Leonhard Kurz. ‘We rely on the strength of our team and invest in Germany as a location.’
