HP Indigo chooses Labelexpo Americas to launch new digital press

HP Indigo has announced that it will launch its new WS 4000 digital press at Labelexpo Americas, to be held in Chicago between September 10-12.

The press prints at 16 metres/minute in 4-colors and 32 metres/minute in one or two colors. The new Series 2 engine allows printing in up to 7 colors.

HP Indigo is promoting the new press as an industrial-scale machine capable of working round the clock converting medium to short runs of self-adhesive labels or flexible packaging.

It incorporates a 1.3 metre unwind to allow longer running and both on- and off-line converting solutions will be shown at Labelexpo.
Nilpeter is providing the on-line converting solution, which can be used either to waste strip pressure sensitive laminates following die cutting, or as a rewind station for flexible packaging applications.

Ronen Samuel, industrial product manager at HP Indigo, tells Labels & Labelling (see June-July issue for full story) that Hewlett Packard is committed to making both the electro-ink consumables and the press components considerably cheaper, making the WS system competitive with flexo on run lengths up to 2,000 metres.
