Avery Dennison opens new coater in Germany as part of multimillion dollar investment program
Avery Dennison has opened a new coater its facility in Schwelm, Germany as part of a 17 million EUR (18.8 million USD) upgrade at the plant.
The new coater offers large production flexibility with two coating methods and 10 different solvent-based adhesives. The new coater was launched at a customer event that showcased the Schwelm plant’s comprehensive production and customer service operation, which includes additional coaters, slitters, cross-sheeters and a packaging line, as well as an automated and semi-automated warehouse.
Avery Dennison said the upgrade to the Schwelm plant, including the new coater, gives graphics customers across Europe access to more than 7,600 product variations in total.
Shaun Hobson, senior business director for Graphic Solutions division within Avery Dennison Materials Group Europe, said the investment is a reflection of the company’s strong ongoing commitment to the graphics segment. ‘Our customers want the widest possible choice of application options. This very powerful new resource runs in seven-day operation and broadens our offering further, ensuring exceptional service.
‘The Schwelm investment is one more example of how we are continuing to drive forward graphics innovation and service improvements.’
