Amba evaluated quality of print and running cost when looking for a digital press. On both counts, it found Colornovo Hybrid by Jetsci Global to be most suitable. The machine comes with European make web control transport system.

Ankit Mehta, management team member, Amba Multiprint Ventures, said: ‘There are many machines in market but they offer limited printing options. With Colornovo Hybrid the best part is that it’s a hybrid, a great combination of flexo and digital in one pass for extended color gamut. This is an extraordinary combination that has strengthened our overall operations. If you choose any other machine in the market, it will either offer you a conventional press or digital not both. Secondly, we did not want to bound ourselves with a machine with substrate limitations and fixed running cost of print.’

The converter chose Colornovo Hybrid by Jetsci after a careful analysis of options available in the market. The press offered Amba a combination of features and price that matched its requirements with ease of operation. The other important aspect was after sales services which Monotech can efficiently provide being based in India.

Amba was looking for a press that enable it to work on multiple substrates. Colornovo Hybrid has UV dryer along with chiller plates under every printhead enabling printing on heat sensitive materials such as shrink sleeves, IML and lamitubes.

The converter supplies to multiple sectors including pharma, cosmetic and to the packaging industry. It needed an agile and versatile press.

‘It is easy to upgrade to 7th color when needed and a spot registered flexo to run preprinted materials with cold foil in line. The trial run of Colornovo Hybrid showcased us that it can fit into our needs very well. Jetsci Global has customized the press for us after understanding our requirements to suit our special application and substrate needs,’ Mehta added.

The Amba operators quickly adapted to the machine with the support of Monotech team.

‘The press has combined features of flexo as well as digital. For the long term, this hybrid combination is a viable option. Secondly, if you compare the cost and benefits extended by hybrid in comparison to other machines available in market, I would say, it is a value for money model,’ Mehta said.

The converter plans to shift a wide variety of its jobs to digital.
