Esko India to launch Kongsberg V cutting table
Esko India will launch the new Kongsberg V digital finishing platform, and is to show a new Kongsberg V24 cutting table during the IndiaCorr Expo - SinoCorrugated 2014 show in Mumbai, India.
Three Kongsberg V tables have already been sold in India. The first was installed at Parksons Packaging, followed by Stora Enso and Nestle.
Kongsberg V cutting tables are used by companies in the carton and corrugated markets that produce samples, packaging, displays and mock-ups. It is also used by other packaging specific markets looking to complement their offerings with productive digital finishing.
The Kongsberg V cutters offer a selection of tools, providing quality results for a wide range of cutting, creasing, and plotting activities. Other features include a camera system, which ensures print-to-cut registration, even with print-distorted materials. Exchanging different tools is quick and error-free because every insert is identified by a unique bar code. Insert knife tools are available for cutting a range of materials, from thin paper to synthetic sheets through heavy-duty packaging and display material.
The tooling selection also includes creasing, and drilling tools.
Kongsberg V is available in two sizes; V20 and V24, and is able to work on materials with sizes 66 x 51in (1,700 x 1,300mm) and 66 x 126in (1,700 x 3,200mm) respectively.
The Kongsberg V24 model is designed for carton and corrugated sample making, short-run production of mock-ups and other packaging applications. It is outfitted with a FlexiHead, which offers accurate, powerful cutting and creasing of packaging materials such as folding cartons and corrugated board. The FlexiHead is attached to a servo axis that controls tool depth when cutting, creasing and routing. Three configurable tool stations accommodate a full range of standard tool inserts.
