Malaysian printer moves into flexo with Edale FL-3
Hyper Region, a label printer based in Malaysia, has added flexo printing to its offering after purchasing an Edale UV FL-3 for the production of self-adhesive labels.
Traditionally an intermittent letterpress and offset print house, Hyper Region has seen its business rapidly grow, and now has three sites across Malaysia. As its business grew, so did the need for new printing technology.
Its main objectives were the need to increase productivity, offer more flexibility on applications, and to reduce machine and employee downtime. Having no previous experience in flexographic printing, Hyper Region contacted Edale Asia Pacific for more information on the print process and the Edale machine range.
This has led it to make the investment in a 6-color FL-3, which offers fast make-ready times, job changeovers in less than 70 seconds, reduced waste and the capability to handle a variety of different substrates. The addition of an optional rail system allows for any options Hyper Region may require in the future to be added easily with no disruption to operation.
Edale Asia Pacific sales manager Tony Law said: ‘Hyper Region heard about Edale through a previous agent in Malaysia, and had heard good reports of Edale and its range of presses. This was supported by the number of previous installations in Malaysia.
‘Hyper Region particularly likes the short set-up time of jobs, quick changeovers, pre-register, auto register function and stable production speed.’
