Thomson Print & Packaging adds Suprasetter A52

Thomson Print & Packaging has added a Suprasetter A52 CtP device that has extended its Prinect workflows to include Prepress Manager.

The Suprasetter A52 at Thomson Print & Packaging replaces a Fuji CtP device

Thomson Print & Packaging has a loyal customer base, many in the Scottish drinks industry, and produces a variety of items using multiple printing and converting technologies, including digital with a Ricoh C751EX press, and cutting, foil blocking, embossing and debossing, varnishing and coating. Thomson Print & Packaging has been printing labels for more than three decades and offers self-adhesive labels on three-inch core reels, to any shape and without cutter costs.

The company is a keen Heidelberg advocate with Speedmaster SM and SX presses which are run with Heidelberg consumables. The company was an early adopter of the Online Shop which makes the ordering of plates, inks and parts very quick and easy. It also already operates Prinect pressroom software.

The Heidelberg Suprasetter A52 replaces a Fuji CtP device, and Jim Thomson, managing director of the company, said: ‘The Fuji CtP and workflow was eight years old and we knew we needed to upgrade. By switching to Heidelberg we can benefit from the service levels in Scotland. It is a manufacturer we know well.

‘We had excellent training at start-up and this is going to continue with secondary training in two weeks’ time to iron out any issues we have come across now it is up and running.’
