JMB Labels buys first MPS EB flexo press in Africa

South Africa’s JMB Labels has ordered an MPS EB, its second press from the Dutch manufacturer and the first of this model sold into Africa.

JMB Labels ordered Africa's first MPS EB flexo press at Labelexpo Europe 2015

The MPS EB flexo press features, as standard, Crisp.Dot light technology, iSet intelligent pressure settings, iStop technology, full-length rail system, quick change die station and a pre-register function. Printing speeds are up to 165m/min. JMB Labels has ordered a laminating unit on rail.

Additionally equipped on the EB press for JMB Labels are Wink magnetic and print cylinders in addition to the Wink GapControl adjustable anvil system, which is to be installed on the die station. GapControl allows a precise, double-sided adaptation of the gap, and so the liner strike, for various applications and materials.

Managed and owned by Ahmed and Aslam Monia, JMB Labels is one of the leading and fastest growing label printing specialists in South Africa. It has previously purchased and installed an MPS EF UV flexo multi-substrate press.

The order for the EB press was placed at Labelexpo Europe 2015, and handled by Patrick Aengenvoort, sales director of Rotocon, MPS’s representative in South Africa. Rotocon has represented Wink in South Africa since 2013.

‘Our decision to invest in another MPS press was made easy considering the proven success of our premium MPS EF flexo press and the dependable support we receive from MPS and locally through Rotocon,’ said Aslam Monia. ‘With our new EB press, we will benefit from its superior operator-friendly design, low-cost in maintenance, and advanced press automation as we continue to grow in South Africa.’

In another first, GM Graphix has ordered a 6-color MPS EF 340 multi-substrate flexo press featuring UV LED drying, making it the first press in South Africa to use this type of curing.
