Appvion launches EarthChem portfolio
The new environmentally friendly direct thermal products designed to create a better tomorrow.
Appvion has introduced EarthChem, a new portfolio of sustainable direct thermal products crafted to fall under at least one of the three core pillars: sustainable chemicals, sustainable materials or sustainable applications.
Appvion’s new portfolio includes a range of paper and film direct thermal products, including Alpha Free E, Dispersible E, Résiste 15 percent PCW E, Résiste 165 E, Wavex PD E, Résiste Rx E, Résiste SR E, and CleanSlate Film E.
Each product within EarthChem is carefully crafted to fall under at least one of the three core pillars: sustainable chemicals, sustainable materials or sustainable applications.
For the sustainable chemicals EarthChem includes paper and film direct thermal products that are made with chemicals that pose little to no threat to human health and the environment, via biodegradability. For this pillar, Appvion boasts a patent-pending phenol-free chemistry derived from natural sources, ensuring minimal impact on human health and the environment.
The sustainable materials pillar has physical materials within environmentally friendly properties, such as materials sourced from circular economy models. For instance, the base stock to Appvion’s direct thermal label product Résiste 15 percent PCW E is manufactured using recycled paper materials, reducing carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable, circular economy.
Products within the sustainable applications have a sustainable feature that applies to how a human interacts with it. For example, any Appvion product that is recyclable, compostable, dispersible, or recyclable through repulping programs would fall under this pillar. Appvion's top-coated paper products undergo a sustainable repulping program, minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices across various industries.
‘We are thrilled to introduce EarthChem, a portfolio that reflects our unwavering dedication to sustainability and innovation,’ said Genevieve Smith, product marketing manager at Appvion. ‘With EarthChem, we aim to redefine sustainability in the paper industry, driving positive change and inspiring others to join us in our mission to create a greener, healthier planet.’
