Herma has increased its standard assortment of self-adhesive materials for labels.

Herma's product manager, Hendrik Kehl, explained: 'This enables us to offer comparable self-adhesive materials based on different components. This is a further step toward further optimizing the supply reliability of label materials that are consistently in high demand.'

The company's focus is on film products.

One new addition is a universal PP film known as Herma PP white tc (grade 882), enabling the production of glossy and opaque labels, often used on PP surfaces for recycling purposes. The film's nacreous appearance enhances the labels' look.

Another new offering, Herma PE white tc (grade 882), has been introduced for instances when a PE film with similar properties needs to be used for recycling. This quality is also available in a transparent version as Herma PE transparent tc (grade 862).

The adhesive 62Xpc, specially developed for film labels, is used for all three new film self-adhesive materials. The use of multi-layer technology and ideally matched layers achieves superior processing properties with above-average adhesive properties. The adhesive is resistant to humidity, soaps and oil, making it suitable for product labeling in the hygiene and cosmetic industry. It also offers good resistance to light, heat and aging.

Herma added HermaCoat (grade 243) to its paper products. This white-label paper has a semi-gloss-coated surface and is suitable for high-quality labels with multicolor printing. The paper ensures good print quality in all standard printing processes. The paper can generally be printed with digital printing processes such as HP Indigo, Xeikon and UV Inkjet, but pre-testing is recommended.

HermaCoat uses the multi-layer adhesive 62Dps, showing excellent adhesion on packaging films, even at low temperatures. It has notable tack properties, making it suitable for high-speed dispensing systems. The adhesive 62Dps shows a low migration tendency due to its multi-layer structure and is suitable for direct food contact, with a limitation on fatty foods.

This self-adhesive material for paper labels is available in the net width range of both 2,000 meters and 4,000 meters per roll.
